Partner Dance Alchemy

Tuesdays 7:30–8:30pm · November 10 – December 8, 2026

A 5-week series for new and experienced dancers who want to feel more at home in their bodies and create incredible connections on the dance floor.

Learn the magic behind being a magnetic dancer, at ease with any partner and any style of music.

Whether you’re just dipping your toe into partner dance or you’re already hooked and want to feel more at home on the dance floor, this series has something for you.

We’ll look at key techniques for great leading and following that translate across dance styles.

Training

We’ll break down the details and skills that bring the counts and steps to life, clear leading that makes a follow swoon, and responsive following that makes a lead feel like a pro… then drill them—with guidance, repetition, and feedback—so you can FEEL the difference and get those skills INTO your body.

The Skills

Fine-tuning frame, precision with tone, hip and spinal movements that bring a dance to life, musicality, texture, and style.

We’ll play with exercises that let us slow down, relax, and feel the subtle details without the pressure to perform.

Clear boundaries that allow for a close connection because it is grounded in technique and a common language.

All participants will strengthen their foundation for feeling comfortable and confident dancing with a partner.

Practica

We can talk about a technique forever, but what you really need is practice, practice, practice. That’s what this class also offers: a relaxed environment that welcomes exploration and gives you time and space to try things out, get it in your body, and really work your growth edges.

Important: You Don’t Need a Partner!

We’ll switch roles a lot because leading and following inform each other in MANY ways.

This class is NOT about steps, counts, or sequences. This class IS about the key ingredients of excellent nonverbal communication in partner connection, becoming a better dancer in your own body, and bringing THAT to your partner.

Limited space. Prebook to reserve your spot.

Dance Chemistry: An Intro to Partner Dancing

Friday, December 11 · 7–9pm

A playful, beginner-friendly workshop for singles and couples who want to discover the spark of connection through partner dancing. No experience or partner needed.

Learn how to dance with a partner, feel good doing it, and have a great time together to just about any song that comes on.

You don't need fancy footwork or a head full of choreography to be a great dance partner. What makes partner dancing so much fun is the connection—the way two people communicate through movement, respond to the music, and create something together.

In this playful, hands-on workshop, we'll start with the essentials of leading and following, so you can feel how partner dancing actually works. Then we'll put those skills into motion with simple blues-inspired steps, three versatile turns, and ways to travel around the dance floor with ease.

We'll also explore different ways to connect with a partner, from an open hold with plenty of room to move, to a comfortable closed embrace, to dancing close together. Playful and casual or slow and intimate—you get to choose what feels good to you.

By the end of two hours, you'll have a solid foundation to get out on the dance floor, improvise with a partner, and enjoy dancing to all kinds of music without needing to memorize a routine.

No dance experience necessary. No partner required. Come solo, bring a date, or grab a friend. We'll be switching partners and practicing both leading and following so everyone gets to experience both sides of the dance.
